Study electromagnetism with this LARGE teacher size electromagnet. This classroom demonstration size electromagnet can lift at least 9 lbs / 4,100g / 40N at 6 Volts / 1A input. The electromagnet consists of 2 large copper wound bobbins placed around a large (7/16" / 11mm diameter) U-shaped soft iron core. Pair this magnet with a set of spring scales to measure the relationship between input voltage and force. A great way to study remanence (magnetization left behind after a magnetic field has been removed), the large iron core of this electromagnet helps to enhance this effect.
